in 1997. He spent 20 years with a major insurance company and 8 years as
a manager of Individual Financial Services with an international life insurance
company. Paul brings with him years of experience in the insurance industry

Gary has a wide range of business experience, both within and outside the financial

industry. Over the last 17 years Gary has held advisory and management positions
within various industries including both the investment and insurance industries.
Before
joining ScotiaMcLeod, his most recent experience included working for one of
the major life
insurance companies in Canada as the Executive Account Manager for British Columbia.
Gary works with Sean to design and implement appropriate insurance based strategies
and financial solutions to help clients create and protect wealth.

Kathy
Kushner
Senior Financial Planning Consultant
Kathy
has extensive experience
in providing financial planning
advice to clients with complex
and sophisticated needs and goals. She draws on the breadth
of expertise that she has developed over her tenure in the financial services
sector. Kathy is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in International
Relations. She holds the Certified Financial Planner designation and the Personal
Financial Planning designation as well as the Canadian Securities Course and
the LLQP (Life Insurance). Kathy is an active member of Advocis – the Financial
Advisors Association as well as a volunteer with the Financial Planners Standards
Council.
Using a disciplined planning process, Kathy works with Sean to develop a highly
customized financial plan for you. She will also explore relevant financial,
retirement, tax, Will and estate strategies.

Lara Hein

Lara has completed the Professional
Financial Planning course and obtained
the Specialist of the Trust Institute designation. Joining the Scotiabank
Group in 1996, Lara works with our clients to establish and integrated

Malcolm is a nationally-known
charity expert whose focus is
private foundations, charitable
products, gift planning consulting,

not-for-profits. He came to the Scotia Private Client Group after spending
13 years with the University of Toronto, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation
and the The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation.
Malcolm is actively involved with advancing the charitable sector in Canada as
Chair of Government Relations for the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP). Through
CAGP, he has contributed to the development of new rules relating to charitable
giving tools such as publicly-listed securities, donation tax shelters, and charitable
remainder trusts. He is editor at large of the monthly newsletter Gift
Planning in Canada and a Friend of CAGP

Yael Dirnfield
Private Banker
Yael is responsible for managing banking relationships at Scotia Private Banking.
She has been with the Scotiabank Group and has worked in the financial services
industry since 1987. Prior to joining Private Banking, Yael held several positions
within the domestic banking network. Her clients benefit from her years of experience
as Financial Advisor and most recently, as Manager Personal Banking.
She holds the Personal Financial Planner designation obtained through the Institute
of Canadian Bankers.
